β¦ Synopsis
Two novel 5-methoxydibenzylhydroxybutyrolactone lignans named 5-methoxytracheloside and 5-methoxytrachelogenin were isolated from the stems and leaves of Trachelospermum jasminoides (Lindl.) Lem., their structures were determined as (8S, 8 0 S)-8 0hydroxy-3, 3 0 , 4, 5-tertramethoxylignan-9, 9 0 -olide-4 0 -O-b-D-glucopyranoside and (8S, 8 0 S)-4 0 , 8 0 -dihydroxy-3, 3 0 , 4, 5-tertramethoxylignan-9, 9 0 -olide by various spectroscopic analysis. 5-Methoxytracheloside was a new compound and 5-methoxytrachelogenin was isolated from natural source for the first time.
