β¦ Synopsis
Developments i n t h e synthesis of t h e m l l y s t a b l e polymers have been discussed, a t t e n t i o n being paid t o t h e synthesis of some novel polymers with naphthalene and binaphthalene recurring units. Unconventional organic raw material, i.e. coal t a r , has been recognized a s s u i t a b l e monomer source f o r t h e production of such polymers. The synthetic routes and properties of novel poly ibis (benzimidazo-benzi soquinolinones) 1 , poly (naphthazlimides) , poly[oxyarylenebis(acenaphthalen&uinaxalines]and crosslinked polymers w i t h similar structur a l repeating units have been demonstrated.

Monomers 1,3-bis(4-phenylethynylphenyl)tetramethyldisiloxane and 1,7bis(4-phenylethynylphenyltetramethyldisiloxyl)-m-carborane were synthesized and compared with bis(4-phenylethynylphenyl)dimethylsilane as potential preceramic precursors. These monomers were heated to free flowing liquids above 100Π
The syntheses of a homologous series of p-disubstituted isopropenyl and l-phenylvinyl monomers derived from phenyl ether, 1.4-diphenoxybenzene and bis(4-phenoxyphenyl) ether are reported. Infrared spectral data for the d i o l e h and their precursors are presented. ## ZUSAMMENFASSUNG: Es wird ii
