โฆ Synopsis
and Sons acquired the Infant Mental Health Journal in 1996. Effective with the first issue of 1997, I will be making a number of exciting changes in the journal. Because of the strong interest of our readers in clinical work as well as research, we will be introducing a new section of the Journal on Clinical Perspectives with Associate Editor Martin Drell as the Section Editor. The Clinical Perspectives section will provide the opportunity for more flexibility in publishing clinically oriented papers. We will also be starting a formal Book Review Section, and Alicia Lieberman has agreed to be the new Associate Editor to coordinate this initiative. I am also very pleased to announce that Peter J. Scheer has graciously agreed to do German translations for Infant Mental Health Journal. I want to take this opportunity to thank him and our other translators, Catherine Danielou (French), Aristofanes Cedano (Spanish), and Toshihiko Maruta (Japanese).
Wiley has increased the page allocation for the journal, influencing the changes in structure so that we can not only expand the journal, but also have more flexibility in publishing special issues. Upcoming special issues will include one on evaluation and assessment in infant mental health and one on infant and maternal depression. As always, I welcome your comments about the journal and suggestions for special issues. We are looking forward to the opportunity to expand both the scope and readership of the journal with our new relationship with Wiley, and I too appreciate your continuing support.
