✦ Synopsis

In responding to Mr H. Barr's letter I find that our experience agrees. In the case presented the diverticulum was very narrow-necked and presumably predisposed to stasis. Other authors have alluded to the importance of stasis and entrapment of undigestible vegetable matter1.*. His analysis of the enterolith certainly supports this supposition.

The interesting facets ofthe case presented were the bizarre radiological appearance of the calcified enteroliths and that the chance to make the correct diagnosis pre-operatively was missed.

Finally. perhaps I should advise that those of us with a narrownecked Meckel's diverticulum avoid the current trend to ingest a high fibre diet!
