โฆ Synopsis
This book presents a novel approach to the analysis and design of all-digital phase-locked loops (ADPLLs), technology widely used in wireless communication devices. The authors provide an overview of ADPLL architectures, time-to-digital converters (TDCs) and noise shaping. Realistic examples illustrate how to analyze and simulate phase noise in the presence of sigma-delta modulation and time-to-digital conversion. Readers will gain a deep understanding of ADPLLs and the central role played by noise-shaping. A range of ADPLL and TDC architectures are presented in unified manner. Analytical and simulation tools are discussed in detail. Matlab code is included that can be reused to design, simulate and analyze the ADPLL architectures that are presented in the book.

The design and application of phase-locked loops is one of the most sophisticated - and significant - aspects of modern electronics. For many years, Phase-Locked Loops had been the standard reference for those who create and apply the vital components that lock in frequencies used for an ever-length

Phase locked loops (PLLs) are electronic circuits that ensure that a communications signal stays locked on a given frequency. Their design is crucial to the workings of wireless communications systems. Virtually all transceivers use PLLs to synthesize the stable, high frequency oscillations necessar
Bianchi offers both advice and code to perform simulations of phase locked loops. He develops enough theory for you to understand the key ideas. Though this is not a book on circuit theory per se; he suggests you consult other texts for that. The accompanying CD has Mathcad and Simetrix engines.
