✦ Synopsis
The title complex (systematic name; {2,2
is a mononuclear iron(II) complex with a distorted squareplanar coordination geometry. The central Fe 2+ ion is fourcoordinated by two O and two N atoms from a Schiff base ligand, which is obtained by condensing 1,2-diaminobenzene and two equivalents of salicylaldehyde in acetonitrile.

The tetradentate Schiff base ligand derived from the condensation of pyrrole-2-carbaldehyde and cyclohexane-1,2-diamine forms a square-planar four-coordinate Ni complex, [Ni(C 16 H 18 N 4 )]. The compound crystallizes with two crystallographically independent molecules in the asymmetric unit.
A new Ni-Zn heterodinuclear complex: [l 2 -bis(salicylidene)propane-1,3-diaminato]dichlorobis(N,N-dimethylformamide)nickel(II)zinc(II)
