The title complex, [Cu(C 24 H 18 N 2 O 2 )], has been synthesized and characterized. It is a mononuclear copper(II) complex. The Cu atom is four-coordinated by two N atoms and two O atoms of the bis-Schiff base ligand in a slightly distorted square-planar geometry.
In the title compound, [Cu(C 23 H 24 N 2 O 2 )], the Cu II atom is coordinated by two imine N and two phenol O atoms of the ligand. The geometry of the coordination is distorted tetrahedral. The dihedral angle between the N/Cu/O coordination planes is 7.37 (7) .
