## Abstract The nuclear magnetic spinβlattice and transverse relaxation processes for the ^1^H and ^2^D nuclei in purified elastin (__ligamentum nuchae__), exchanged and hydrated with excess D~2~O, have been studied in the temperature range 276Β°β340Β°K. The ^2^D relaxation results clearly show the p

β¦ Synopsis
The early stages of cement hydration were investlgated by proton spinspin relaxation time (T c) measurements because these experiments can be performed much faster (in several seconds) than the characterlstlc time for a change in hydration evolution.
In addition, comparing the free induction decays of nuclear magnetization and its spln echoes allows the separation of solld-llke and llquld-llke proton groups. The values of T and the associated magnetization fractions were monitored for cement ~astes with different water/cement ratlos In the first 20 hours of hydration.

This paper examines the early hydration of alkali-slag cements activated by different sodium compounds, such as NaOH, Na&O,, Na$iO,.SH,O, Na,PO.,, N%HPO, and NaF, at 25 and 50Β°C. A conduction calorimeter was used to monitor hydration kinetics. It was found that the initial pH of activator solution h
The dependence of the head-group mobility of DOPC-d 9 (dioleylphosphatidylcholine, deuterated at its choline methyl groups) on hydration has been studied in multibilayer dispersions by deuterium nuclear magnetic resonance (2H-NMR) spin-lattice (T~) relaxation time measurements. A.C. impedance spectroscopy is now gaining favour as an investigative technique for monitoring the development of cement microstructure. This paper extents the range of application of the method by showing the compositional dependence of the complex impedance of cement-aggregate-water systems (ie. c
The hydration of the wheat protein omega-gliadins was investigated by carbon and proton magic angle spinning (MAS) NMR spectroscopy. The changes observed in the protein carbon spectrum with increasing hydration in the range 0-50% show a general mobility increase but, even at 50% hydration, a number
