## Abstract The synthesis of the first example of a complex in which methylphosphaalkyne solely η^1^‐coordinates a metal center, [RuH(dppe)~2~(η^1^‐P≡CMe)][CF~3~SO~3~] [dppe = 1,2‐bis(diphenylphosphanyl)ethane], is reported. Treatment of this compound with HBF~4~ (acting as a source of HF) has led
