it is now possible to produce pilot quantities of cast shapes of both pure and alloyed titanium. Castings of complex shape weighing up to several pounds have been made. Carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen content are reasonably comparable with commercial wrought titanium. The surface attainable is equal to that of good sandcast metals.
