A new facile method---aminolysis of calix[4]arene esters to obtain lower rim double-l,2-amide-bridged calix[4]arenes is described. We also report fl~e single crystal structure of compound 3 which forms a long chain supramolecule in the solid state via intermolecular hydrogen bonding.

## Abstract We first make use of aminolysis of calix[4]arene esters to synthesize calix[4]arene amides. When the two ethyl esters of the calix[4]arene esters are aminolysized, the 1, 3‐amide derivative is formed selectively. The crystal structures of the calix‐[4] arene with two butyl amide (3b) an
