✦ Synopsis

Fatty acid and long chain hydrocarbon analogs that contain a strong chelating group were synthesized as part of an ef- fort to determine if the biological function of the fatty acid can be used to transport metallic isotopes to the myocardium.

The word noninstantaneous is used to describe phenomena taking place at rates considerably slower than the diffusion-controlled limit of -2 X 1010 M-I sec-1.

Carbon acids are acids in which the dissociating proton is bound to a carbon atom instead of a heteroatom such as oxygen or nitrogen.
