Abstract
This article shows a new wideband driver for switchmode RF power wideband amplifiers based on the voltage waveforms generated across nonnominal wideband ClassβE amplifier's switch. Their key features are high efficiency, wideband operation, and only positive driving voltage generation. Harmonic balance simulations and measurements on a prototype (B = 40%, P~OUT~ = 50 W at 7.5 MHz, Ξ·~OV~ > 90%) show its effectiveness. Β© 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
