✦ Synopsis

Applying pulsed magnetic fields up to 150T, we have studied infrared and far-infrared properties of HgSe and its semimagnetic modification Hg(Fe)Se (Nve =2 x 1019cm-3). The observed spectra are discussed with respect to the relevance of Fe-impurity states, which-despite their crucial influence on charge transport characteristics-have not yet been clearly distinguished in optical experiments.
