โฆ Synopsis
To reduce the cost ofcatalyst in catalytic gasification and to eliminate the need for catalyst recovery, the effect of potassium carbonate and magnesium nitrate catalyst in the gasification of Shen Bei brown coal with steam was studied. Potassium carbonate. maanesium oxide and coal ash are recovered as a potassium silicate complex fertilizer of economic significance.

Catalytic gasification of coal chars exhibiting isotropic textures has been conducted using chars prepared from four types of coal. Mineral contents and inertinites were separated from the coal macerals using a density separation technique. The coal macerals were impregnated with potassium hydroxide
CO, gasification of a gas-coal char catalysed by Na,C03 and K&O, was studied using a fixed-bed reactor at 79S102o"C and 0.2 MPa. The gasification rate increased with increasing temperature. With increasing addition of Na2C03 in the range 9-25 wt% and K&O, in the range 5-20 wt% the rate increased sha
