We study the/3/3 decays of 76Ge, 82Se, 136Xe, 124Sn, 128Te, 13Β°Te in the shell model framework. Bounds on the neutrino mass are obtained and it is found that , among them, S2Se and 124Sn are the most favoured isotopes to detect the neutrinoless mode.
After the discovery of neutrino oscillations, the search for the 0Ξ½Ξ²Ξ²-decay became one of the most fundamental problems of neutrino physics. In this contribution the recent developments in the field of nuclear double beta decay are reviewed. The light Majorana neutrino mass mechanism of the neutrino
Once neutrinoless double beta decay is discovered, the question which mechanism triggers the decay becomes crucial for drawing any conclusion about the concrete physics underlying the process, like the neutrino Majorana mass. For example, in the minimal supersymmetric extension with R-parity violati
