✦ Synopsis

We have recorded the photoelectron spectrum of TeO-using a hot-cathode discharge ion source and a negative ion photoelectron spectrometer.

The adiabatic electron affinity of TeO is determined to be 1.697+0.022 eV. The negative ion parameters determined in this work are: wc(TeO-) = 690+ 80 cm-', rh'(TeO-) = 1.884+0.028 A, and D,(TeO-) = 3.63 f 0.15 eV.

We report the 488 nm photoelectron spectra of the mass-selected Cr2H-and Cr& anions. The electron affinity of Cr2H is 1.474 k 0.005 eV. Frequencies are reported for all three vibrational modes in both the neutral molecules and the anions, and their structures and bonding properties are discussed.

Mass spectrometry and photoelectron spectroscopy of negatively charged atoms, molecules, and clusters open many technical and experimental possibilities to analytical chemistry, research on gasphase reactions, molecular structure studies, investigations of vibrational and electronic states, and thus
