Gravacridonol (2), naturally occurring in the roots of Ruta graveolens, has been synthesized in one step from rutacridone (1) in a yield of 23%.

## Abstract Two naturally occurring coumarins, dihydrosuberenol (5) and (__E__)‐__O__‐ethylsuberenol (6), and another possible natural product (__E__)‐__O__‐methylsuberenol (7), were synthesized from (__E__)‐suberenol (1). The treatment of 1 with HBr gave the new menthadienediylbis(coumarin) 8.
