In a recent issue of Appl. Sci. Res., Schenk and Schenkels reported their photographic measurements of free convection heat transfer to ice-coated spheres. Apparently concurrent with the work of the above authors El~, we have conducted quite similar experiments with ice spheres immersed in water [2]
