Capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) coupled with an on-line mass spectrometric (MS) detection system by an atmospheric pressure electrospray ionization (ESI) interface has been used successfully for separations of peptide and protein mixtures. For CZE-MS, ESI produces multiply charged molecular ion
