The molecule of the title compound, C~13~H~9~Cl~2~N~3~O, is roughly planar, the largest deviation from the mean plane being 0.168 (1) Å at the N atom next to the carbonyl group. Molecules are linked by N—H...N hydrogen bonds to form a zigzag chain.
