## Abstract A novel microstrip antenna constructed with a lotus‐pod pattern is presented in this Letter. It exhibits a frequency‐independent antenna after a self‐similar design. In practice, the multiband spectrum depends on the iteration of the fractal pattern. Both outward and inward iteration ap

✦ Synopsis
Experimental results show a multiband beha¨ior for the Sierpinski gasket fractal antenna and the tree-like fractal antenna. Such beha¨ior has been explained by the fractal structures of the antennas. We show that the matched frequencies possess a log-periodic beha¨ior.

## Abstract A novel multiband and broadband fractal patch antenna is presented in this paper. The proposed antenna is compact and simple to design and fabricate. The impedance bandwidth can reach 18%, which is rarely reported for single‐layer and single‐patch antennas. Multiband characteristics are
## Abstract In this paper, the multiband behavior of the Koch fractal monopole is considered as a function of its self‐similar geometry, height, and wire length. It is demonstrated that the outline shape and wire compression of its self‐similar geometry are primary factors in determining its multib
## Abstract A novel set of multiband antenna structures, which combine different geometries based on fractal elements, are presented. The new combined radiating elements profit from the multifrequency properties of the noncombined geometries, thus providing a mechanism to adjust the antenna paramet
## Abstract In this paper, we study a rectangular microstripline‐fed wide aperture‐coupled microstrip antenna backed by a ground plane. In this case, a rectangular microstrip feed line and a wide slot lead to good impedance matching in a wide‐frequency band. The 2.0 VSWR impedance bandwidth of the
