โฆ Synopsis
This paper describes the experimental results of the pulse tube refrigerator which could be used for the cooling system of the superconducting magnet. In 1993, we developed three-staged pulse tube refrigerator which has a cooling capacity of 100 mW at 4.8 K and the minimum attainable temperature of 3.6 K, and single stage pulse tube refrigerator which has a cooling capacity of 15 W at 80 K and the minimum attainable temperature of 22 K. These results indicate the possibility of the NbTi magnet cooling system combined with a pulse tube refrigerator which has no moving parts at the low temperature region. Design parameters and some preliminary test results are also given.

The first two-stage pulse tube refrigerator, providing a lowest temperature of 2.23 K and a cooling power of 370 mW at 4.2 K, employed a parallel arrangement of the two pulse tubes with phase shifters located at room temperature'. With the aim of increasing the COP at liquid 4He temperatures, three
A novel multiple staging configuration for the pulse tube refrigerator is described for increasing its performance and simplicity. To decrease both the regenerator loss and pulse tube loss, a regenerative tube was developed for operating the pulse tube from room temperature to liquid helium temperat
We propose a novel adiabatic demagnetization refrigerator (ADR) to produce temperatures as low as 100 mK starting from a high temperature reservoir between 4 and 8 K. The high temperature reservoir for the ADR can be provided by a mechanical cooler or an unpumped liquid helium bath. This refrigerato
