โœฆ Synopsis

novel distribution of higher alphaolefins. An existing process for making higher alpha-olefins is the Shell Higher Olefins Process, which involves the oligomerization of ethylene using a homogeneous nickel-based catalyst. However, a subsequent distillation step is required to separate the wide distribution of alpha-olefins generated by the process. In the research study, two unique sets of oligomers, all 68 and higher, were generated. The researchers said that production distribution may be controlled further by modifying ligands and altering process conditions.
