After their marriage, Charles and Jane Bingley leave Netherfield and move into a fine estate called Donwell in Leicestershire, a mere thirty miles from Pemberley.
Kitty Bennet lives with them for a while. She is unhappy however, as she is far away from her suitor Mr Clarey. Furthermore, she says she has seen a phantom in her bed chamber, the Grey Lady a legendary ghost from the seventeenth century.
Jane wishes to help her sister and with the assistance of Darcy, Lizzy and Mr Collins at Pemberley they try to convince her that there is no Grey Lady and that her travails have another source.
Mr Clarey is a musician, and it is arranged that his orchestra perform at Pemberley in order that he and Kitty are thrown together once more.
Will the machinations prove effective, and will Kitty and Mr Clarey declare their love at last? And will the Grey Lady show herself once more?
This is a sweet, funny and affectionate variation on Jane Austen’s beloved novel following the amorous travails of the last unmarried Bennet sister.
