Abstract
Moisture absorptions of filled silicone rubber (SiR) under strong electrolyte have been investigated in the temperature range of 25β60Β°C by weightβgain experiments. Tests were performed with the materials exposed to NaCl, HNO~3~ solution, and deionized water. The diffusion results have been analyzed in terms of the Fickian diffusion law. The apparent maximum moisture content and the apparent diffusion of filled SiR in different solutions were deduced. The influences of the solution concentration and temperature on the diffusion process of filled SiR were discussed, and the microphotos of the surface of the immersed specimens were taken and analyzed.
