✦ Synopsis

The need for and scope of modelling of weapon effects is introduced. Depending on the intended application weapon models may be specific, that is, represent a particular build of weapon, or generic, representing a general weapon class having like characteristics. The models may be all-embracing in scope spanning the reliability, carriage and release, delivery trajectory, fuzing and terminal effects phases or may be deliberately selective describing only some of these aspects. Several approaches exist for weapons effects mcdelling, each having strong points and shortcomings which are reviewed. The paper is supported by examples demonstrating the capabilities of the models discussed.

## Abstract In this paper a very versatile game model is developed for use in the long range planning of our strategic force posture. This highly aggregate model yields optimal force mixes for the triad (land‐ and sea‐based missile systems and bombers) under a variety of constraints. The model desc
