We report on room-temperature laser actions of a novel thulium-doped crystal Tm:Lu2SiO5 (LSO) under diode pumping. An optical-optical conversion efficiency of 12% and a slope efficiency of 21% were obtained with the maximum continuous-wave (CW) output power of 0.67 W. The emission wavelengths of Tm:

This paper presents a new computational strategy for efficient and stable modeling of rare-earth-doped fiber amplifiers and illustrates the strategy with results for a cladding-pumped erbiumrytterbium-doped fiber amplifier. The computational strategy allows arbitrary radial dependence for the optica
We present a Tm-doped fiber laser operating around 1.9 ฮผm by bi-directional pumping with 1.6 ฮผm-band laser diodes. The laser output pulse is built by using a gain-switching pump pulse with a bias pump pulse. The output pulse power is measured to 119 mW when the bias pump power and the gainswitching
We reported the Ho:YAP laser pumped by the Tmdoped fiber laser with a fiber Bragg grating. The Ho:YAP laser maximum output power was 3.94 W when the incident power was 10.6 W with the threshold of 2.54 W. The slope efficiency was 49%, corresponding to an optical-to-optical efficiency of 37.1%. The H
