Fluid&d beds of widely sized particles can be subject to segregation which when severe can result in bed defluidization. Mixing and segregation was studied in fluid&d beds of circular (0.21 m diam) and square (0.61 x 0.61 m and 1.22 x 1.22 m) cross-section. Experimental mixing data were obtained for
