less controversy, but John Griffiths' paper on 'Rendering with space-filling curves' was complimented for its usefulness in the smooth shading of curved surfaces. Professor Mayer (Abacus, Strathclyde University) gave what he described as a 'broad brush' overview of some of the work being carried out by the Abacus unit. This included the modelling of Glasgow and the ongoing development of sophisticated lighting models for interiors -these modelled spotlights, sunlight through windows, recessed lighting and diffuse lighting.
