โœฆ Synopsis

MINOS is a two-detector experiment to study neutrino oscillations in the NuMI highintensity neutrino beam at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. Results on ฮฝ ยต disappearance, ฮฝ e appearance, sterile neutrino mixing (ฮฝ neutral current 'disappearance'), and ฮฝยต disappearance are summarized for an exposure of โ‰ˆ3 ร— 10 20 protons on target. Data from a 7 ร— 10 20 POT exposure already in hand are being analyzed.

The physics goals and expected sensitivities of MINOS for ฮฝ ยต disappearance and ฮฝ e appearance are briefly discussed, as well as the latest atmospheric neutrino results based on 418 days of exposure of the MINOS far detector. The latter exclude the null oscillations hypothesis at the 98% confidence
