## Abstract The binding of Cd^2+^ to human serum transferrin (80 kDa) was studied by ^113^Cd NMR spectroscopy. At pH 7 in the presence of hydrogen‐carbonate as synergistic anion, two resonances of similar intensity at 38.1 and 43.6 ppm were observed, consistent with Cd^2+^ binding to oxygen ligands
