First cyclotron resonance of electrons in AlAs is presented. The measurements were carried out up to 40T on a high mobility (Jo = 10 500 cm\*/V s at 4.2 K) two-dimensional electron gas obtained in a type II heterojunction. The transverse and longitudinal effective masses at the X point of the Brillo
