β¦ Synopsis
This paper is concerned with the formulation of mass and stiffness matrices. In the direct approach one uses assumed shape functions to develop the mass and stiffness terms. Alternatively, we may construct the matrices by using an inverse approach; the terms are assigned so that the difference between an analytical model and a numerical (discrete) one is minimized. Here we show that more accurate models can be obtained by the latter approach. The accuracy of rod, beam and plate elements that have been developed by both of the approaches are discussed, and an accurate model of a rectangular plate is obtained by using the inverse method. The superior performance of the new element compared to other established models is demonstrated for the cases of static and dynamic response of a clamped plate. 1998

## Abstract Summary: In copolymerization systems with implicit penultimate effect, there are two radical reactivity ratios, __s~a~__ and __s~b~__, which influence the reaction kinetics in addition to the monomer reactivity ratios, __r~a~__ and __r~b~__, which govern the copolymer composition. Here,
## Abstract A method for the quantitative determination of major antidepressants in aqueous matrices by CE using ESIβMS is presented. Several aqueous, nonaquoeus, and mixed aqueous/organic solvent BGEs including inorganic and organic acids were investigated with respect to their suitability for the
A new method for the determination of pravastatin, a potent inhibitor of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase, and its main metabolite (R-416) in human plasma using high-performance liquid chromatography/atmospheric pressure (negative ion) chemical ionization mass spectrometry (
An improved method for the quantitative measurement of the angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor lisinopril in human plasma is presented. The assay is based on gas chromatography/negative ion chemical ionization mass spectrometry. The method involves solid phase extraction on C18 sorbent and deriv
