✦ Synopsis

Treatment of aryl chlorides with catalytic amounts of (PPh 3 ) 2 NiCl 2 +PPh 3 in the presence of an equivalent of Me 2 NH•BH 3 and either K 2 CO 3 or Cs 2 CO 3 in CH 3 CN under mild conditions leads to the corresponding product of reduction. Aryl bromides and iodides can also be reduced, selectively, using this reagent combination.
