β¦ Synopsis
The microwave spectra of the 803e and 789e isotopic species of 1,2,5-selenadiazole have been assigned and analyzed. The inertial defect shows the molecule to be planar compatable with Czv symmetry. The dipole moment is 1.11 f 0.03 D. 5.2 * 0.3 MHz. 14N quadrupole coupling constants are ]w] < 1 MHz and xCC -XDD = The recent synthesis of 1,2,5-selenadiazole (I) [l] completes the list of known 2,5-diazoles in group six through selenium. The structures of 1,2,5-oxadiazole (II) [2] and 1,2,5_thiadiazole (III) [3] are known from previous microwave studies as are those for the corresponding group six furans, namely furan itself [4], thiophene [5] and the recently studied selenophene [6].
