✦ Synopsis
The microwave spectra of fluorocyanobutadiyne, FCSN, in the ground, v,, (skeletal bending) and 2vll states were observed with a source-modulated spectrometer. The FCsN molecule was generated in a free space absorption cell by a dc glow discharge in pentafluorobenzonitrile, C6FsCN. The rotational and centrifugal distortion constants for the ground state were determined to be 755.398325(41) MHz and 8.3458( 11) Hz, respectively. The /-type doubling constant for the v,, state, 0.508887(48) MHz, was consistent with the value calculated from the harmonic force field.
