✦ Synopsis
Abstract
In this letter, a broadband microstrip antenna suitable for tactical wireless communication at 1.35–1.75 GHz was proposed by loading trapezoidal slots. Compared with rectangular slotted patch antennas, the proposed design achieved a smaller size and a larger bandwidth. In addition, due to more design parameters, better antenna performances can be obtained by optimizing these parameters. Simulated and measured results validate the proposed design. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
