✦ Synopsis


Matter and charge distributions for the ground states of ({ }^{5,6,7,9,11} \mathrm{Li}) were calculated in terms of interacting microscopic clusters: the valence clusters (one, two, three particles) and the intrinsic vacuum clusters (collective-excitations of reference vacuum). Root-mean-square matter and charge radii have been extracted and are in good agreement with experimental results. A short description of an atomic-physics experiment for measuring the so-far unknown charge radii of radioactive lithium isotopes is also given.
