โฆ Synopsis
Experimental observations of growth steps on aspirin crystals grown from a saturated solution in ethanol are described. The extensive examination of the surface feature of aspirin crystals indicates that the step system is the normal process of growth. From a saturated solution in ethanol, two-dimensional spherulites similar to those in polymers were also obtained; on heating (at lo"/ min.), they transformed into aspirin crystals, melting at 125".

## Abstract In the present work the examination of the proposed earlier model of spontaneous crystallization process was done. The model describes kinetics of the crystallization process after the end of the induction period. To test the model the published data on crystallization and aggregation k
Atomic steps on ( ) and (100) crystal surfaces of Pt were observed using a commercial scanning electron microscope (SEMI in secondary electron mode. By comparing the SEM images and those by reflection electron microscopy (REM), the observed contrast was confirmed to be that from atomic steps on crys
An adiabatic calorimetric and direct microscopic observation of crystallization at low temperatures was performed for salol and benzophenone. Both of the materials in the supercooled-liquid phase exhibited a low-temperature crystallization proceeding in the glass-transition temperature (T g ) region
