โœฆ Synopsis

microcalorimetry studies and the determination of solution adsorption isotherms for toluene solutions of triethylenediamine, quinuclidine, and triethylamine at 298.15 K with a commercial activated microporous carbon are reported. The results clarify the mechanism of operation of activated carbon impregnants widely used in the nuclear power industry.

Adso~tion of Cd(K) from aqueous solutions on activated carbons with modified surfaces is studied, The experimental adsorption data are discussed in comparison to the isotope exchange kinetic data and surface charge density data. The results suggest the dependence of the mechanism of Cd(K) adsorption

## Abstract The adsorption of sodium benzoate, 2,4โ€dichlorophenol and 2,4,6โ€trichlorophenol onto five activated carbons made from Northern Ireland lignite is reported. A Twoโ€stage process consisting of chemical activation during the charring of the lignite, followed by steam activation was used to

Whereas the amount of cyclodextrin (CD) adsorbed onto the large-pore activated carbon A (AC-A) increased with the number of glucose units, the amount adsorbed onto the small-pore activated carbon B (AC-B) showed the opposite tendency. This behavior can be accounted for in terms of a molecular exclus
