method is given to calculate equilibrium constants of higher members in a homologous series. The equilibrium constant of one of them must be known as a function of temperature at the operating pressure. Further, the boiling temperature at this operating pressure is required for all components and, also, a relationship between the latent heats of vaporization of the various members such as, for instance, constant latent heat per unit of mass. Within these limitations the method is rigorously valid.
In a second article a correlation formula particularly suitable for use on digital computers will be given. The formula is based on the theory developed in the present article.

A mathematical method for the calculation of the dead time (tM) in HPLC was evaluated using a computer simulationapproach, in which artificial perturbations were introduced to simulated homolog retention times. The calculation was based on a modified and extended Grobler and Balisz (GB) method. Inve
