✦ Synopsis

Der Gegenstand einer dialektischen Theorie der Metapher liegt jenseits der Grenzen der Rhetorik. Sie muss den Substitutionsgedanken überwinden, wonach der übertragene Ausdruck für etwas nur den eigentlichen Ausdruck für dasselbe vertritt. Damit stellt sie den Dualismus von Verstandesbegriff und metaphorischem Anschauungsinhalt in Frage. Vor dem Hintergrund dieser kritischen Einstellung wird der Versuch unternommen, die Grundstruktur dialektischen Denkens - die Einheit von Identität und Differenz in Analogiebildungen - in Metaphern aufzuspüren und dem Problem begriffskonstitutiver Leistungen der Metapher nachzugehen.
