โœฆ Synopsis

In the mass spectra of several transition metal chelates with diethyldithiocarbamate as a ligand, intense peaks are present which could be assigned to extraneous metal (particularly nickel) containing ions. Using an Au-Rh coated ion source, evidence was obtained for the occurrence of exchange reactions in the region of the filament assembly.

* All spectra have been submitted to the Mass Spectrometry Data Centre,

A time-of-flight mass spectrometer with an electrostatic mirror was used to probe the composition and structure of polyatomic secondary ions via their metastable dissociation following the impact of MeV energy primary ions. The experimental approach combines event-by-event bombardment and detection
