โฆ Synopsis
Codeposition of silver vapor with E-alkyl iodides at -196'C followed by matrix warmup yields AgI and RfAg. These reactions serve as the first examples of formation of R-M compounds employing the metal atom technique, and of formation of primary RfAg compounds. Matrix dilution experiments indicate, contrary to expected results, that high RfI/Ag ratios favor RfAg formation.
