A derivatization procedure is described for the GLC determination of subnanogram amounts of chlordiazepoxide and nanogram amounts of N-desmethylchlordiazepoxide. Treatment with acetic anhydride at elevated temperature eliminates the highly polar and unstable nitrone group of these compounds by rearr
