✦ Synopsis
14C from [2-14C] acetate was found to be incorporated into soluble and protein amino acids in substantial amounts by bean root apices. The 14C was spread through a wide range of amino acids in both these fractions. Glutamie acid was found to be heavily labelled with 14C in both soluble and protein amino acid fractions. The data are discussed in relation to present ideas on transport and utilization of amino acids in root systems.

## Abstract A convenient method of preparing 2‐octyl (4‐amino‐3,5‐dichloro‐6‐fluoro‐2‐pyridinyloxy‐2,6‐^14^C)acetate from glutarimide‐2,6‐^14^C is described. The process includes a novel one‐step conversion of glutarimide‐2,6‐^14^C to pentachloropyridine‐2,6‐^14^C.
## Abstract Patients with low titer (<0.5 mEq/ml) of hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotype 2a achieve high and sustained response (SR) rates to interferon (IFN) monotherapy, but we also encounter patients who are resistant to therapy. We explored the relationship between response to IFN and virological
