Angiogenesis is an important mediator of tumor progression. As tumors expand, diffusion distances from the existing vascular supply increases, resulting in hypoxia in the cancer cells. Sustained expansion of a tumor mass requires new blood vessel formation to provide rapidly proliferating tumor cell
