✦ Synopsis

Abstract~asein was grafted with acrylonitrile and n-butyl methacrylate. The stress-strain characteristics at various temperatures were studied. The tensile strength and percent elongation increase, attain a maximum and then decrease with increase of temperature. Stress relaxation was also studied at various temperatures. The stress decays rapidly with a steep negative slope at 20 Β° and 70Β°C suggesting that there are transitions at these temperatures.

Casein was grafted with acrylonitrile in a water medium using potassium persulphate, at 60Β°C. The reaction mixture of acrylonitrile grafted casein was converted into films by drying the reaction mixture over a mercury surface at room temperature. Stress-strain characteristics of these films were stu

## Abstract Tensile and compressive properties of polystyrene bead (PSB) foams at room temperature for strain rates from 10^βˆ’3^ to 10^5^ min^βˆ’1^ can be represented as nearly linearly increasing functions of modulus or stress versus the logarithm of the strain rate. The shear modulus and tensile dat
