✦ Synopsis


The notion of spatial spreading in a recurrent time series is developed. We first define the spatial spreading for a random displacement field. A prescription is then given for constructing a family of displacement fields from a scalar time series. Theoretical results for Gaussian time series are presented. Several examples, using both simulated and real data, are discussed.
